Donut Sunday: Inspiring Everyone for Outreach

This donut-themed all-age service aims to inspire the whole church family to enjoy and be excited by sharing the gospel. We hope that the repeated phrase “Do-nut forget to share the good news of Jesus” will mean that in the future, whenever people eat a donut they will remember this service!

This donut-themed all-age service aims to inspire the whole church family to enjoy and be excited by sharing the gospel. We hope that the repeated phrase “Do-nut forget to share the good news of Jesus” will mean that in the future, whenever people eat a donut they will remember this service!

This service could be used at the beginning of a year so that families can start to pray for their friends, think about how to share their lives meaningfully and talk naturally about their faith. This thought and prayer process can then happen well in advance of any future visitor-friendly / community / outreach events.

Where are we going? In this passage from 1 Thessalonians, we see how Paul shared the love of Jesus with his readers through his words and by sharing his life with them. His example encourages us to do the same, showing Christ’s love to those around us by our actions and looking for opportunities to speak God’s words. Paul reminds us that, though this may be hard, it is worth it because we will enjoy a great and joyful treasure – friends who trust Jesus eternally.

Faith in Families podcast

In this madcap special episode, Ed and Jam are all about donuts. Would you believe Jam’s favourite donut is a jam donut? Coincidence?! Yes! But donuts are for sharing – like the gospel. Except the ones made of potato. Or the ones with expensive grit on the top. All this, plus live donut eating action – and music from Awesome Cutlery.

Faith in Parents podcast

Let's start 2026 knowing Jesus is going to do good in our families. We start by talking donuts and how our families can reach our friends this year. Listen to Amy's top tip: Be ordinary! Hear Ed's desire to love his friend well on the side of the football pitch in the rain. And enjoy Amy explaining what she says to another mum outside the school gate.. We talk donuts because they're the secret to mobilising a church for mission! Which is your favourite- iced, ring or jammy? Amy and Ed also make time to celebrate how the next generation are doing better than us at outreach- hear how the 5% can change the eternity of the 95%.
