Coming Soon
A new Faith in Kids initiative is in the pipeline! We are currently piloting a new in-person interdenominational training programme for Children’s Ministry volunteers in a handful of towns across the UK. Watch this space to find out more!
This new initiative intends to sit alongside our popular online training to expand our training offering in an exciting new direction that we believe will enable the UK church to unite, develop, and thrive in Children’s Ministry together.
- Training hubs will connect multiple local churches
- Training hubs will reach passionate volunteer leaders, not just those in church employment.
- Training hubs will be highly relational, deeply practical, and wonderfully flexible.
Why Training Hubs?
- Two thirds of UK churches have less than 5 under 16s, which means that most churches do not employ a children’s leader. There are limited low cost, low commitment training options for lay leaders and volunteers who cannot for whatever reason access higher education courses.
- Every church, regardless of size and resource, has passionate volunteers who work tirelessly in ministry to reach and disciple children in their town with the gospel. We want to invest in them!
- We want to help facilitate accessible training and local connections by partnering with well resourced churches to give the many small churches in our communities a helping hand.
- At Faith in Kids we connect with hundreds of churches from a wide range of denominational backgrounds and we are being asked for the same resources and the same training by all evangelical churches. We are excited to pioneer a new training initiative that will reach further and bring together Christians from different local churches to learn from and with each other.
- We believe that the children in your town can be better reached, and that children’s ministers can be better resourced, by connecting purposely with those seeking to serve the same community and understand the unique challenges of your town.
“When you talk about passionate people, that is how our ministries are run. It’s mainly volunteers that are doing things. There’s very few paid staff and there are little churches just on their own with a couple of volunteers that are just struggling on. I definitely think a training hub would help.”

What Happens at Training Hubs?
Relational Training
Our new Training Hubs will connect isolated volunteer children’s leaders in local communities, so that the relationships that they make through training are real and relevant.
“I can see the potential to do something that’s just local churches. There are a lot of people who are isolated, and you may even meet up for coffee or whatever outside of your training, because you’ve built those relationships there.”

Practical Training
Training hubs will proactively upskill volunteer leaders with strategies and approaches for their Sunday School sessions. It won’t be demanding or highly academic. But there will be friendship, stories, confidence, and change.
“I really appreciate the fact that it’s Jesus focused. It’s simple. It’s not anything too hard for people to access if they are, you know, not doing this role full time. You’re pitching your training just right. And it starts really good conversations.”
Flexible Training
Training Hubs will meet regularly, with cake, croissants, or curry, at a time and location that they choose. Training videos facilitate learning, discussion, questions, and prayer alongside a participant handbook.
“This would help me a lot because I just think I haven’t got time. I like the way that it’s structured, the video, the chat, I think that’s manageable.”
