Our vision is to see confident parents and thriving churches working together to raise children who trust in Jesus eternally.
We do that by encouraging, inspiring and equipping the influencers of faith in children with support, training and resources.
Research in 2022 revealed that 38 per cent of practising UK Christians came to faith by the age of 5. A further 10 per cent by the age of 10 and a further 26 per cent by the age of 11-18. This means that three quarters of those in our churches today came to faith as a child or young person. Investing in children’s ministry is vital. We want to partner with churches, to help them both at a strategic level and in their everyday ministry patterns.
We understand that at the heart of good partnership is mutual flourishing. We can all do so much more when we work with others who share our vision and value what we do. Together, Faith in Kids and our partner churches can reach more churches, families and children for Christ.
We offer our small and growing number of partner churches flexibility in how they engage with us. For some, their partnership is driven purely by their desire to support us as they continue to use our free downloadable resources. For others, they see us as a partner in developing the strategy and culture of their families’ ministry.
In all our partnerships, we have learnt that churches are looking for a relationship that offers flexibility and responsiveness, rather than a rigid or prescriptive contract. We offer a conversation as a first step, to understand your needs and investigate whether we can help you in those areas. If you’d like to talk to us, please reach out on .
We generally find that partner churches want us to do one or more of the following:
- To provide another voice to help move their congregation on the journey of discipling children and supporting parents. We know how helpful it can be to a church leadership team for us to reinforce key messages about raising up the next generation, in much the same way that mission partners can reinforce helpful messages about outreach in a church’s local community.
- To be available to help as situations arise or as new decisions are being taken. We know that our broader experience can help churches to make decisions and so often just sharing a current situation can help unlock solutions.
- To visit occasionally to offer training, preaching or just to be interviewed. We are limited in this area, because we want our team to focus on writing resources for you to use. However, within our limited capacity we aim to prioritise partner churches.
- To support in prayer. Our team meets once a week to pray for partner churches and other organisations we work with. We believe that supporting you in prayer is a powerful aspect of ongoing friendship.
- To continue to make great resources for your church and the families within it, we suggest that partner churches consider supporting us in the following ways:
- By offering feedback. Only our friends tell us where we need to improve, where we need to go next or even where we have failed. Be our friends!
- By trialling new resources. Increasingly, we send draft versions of our resources to our partner churches so that they can tell us where the mistakes are. We want to launch the best resources we can. We can only do that if we have partner churches in a variety of contexts who can give us a diversity of perspectives.
- By supporting us in prayer and encouragement. We can only do what we do with the support of others. We send an email to partner churches every term containing news and prayer points. We would love you to pray for us in your services or church prayer meetings.
- By giving financially. We don’t have a minimum, or expected (or maximum!) financial amount in mind. Each church is different. Ongoing financial support of any size is usually an indicator of ongoing partnership.
- By being an advocate for us. You might speak well of us in your networks. You might recommend our resources to others. You might even hear the reasons why other churches are *not* using our resources – if so, please tell us!
